Laura Huning is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in immunoassays, molecular diagnostics, and cancer diagnostics. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Labcorp since September 2023, Laura leads the development of companion diagnostics for anti-AAV total antibody detection in cell and gene therapy. Previous roles include Scientist II at Baebies, where product development focused on molecular diagnostics and qPCR, and Senior Scientist at Pleno Inc., specializing in cancer diagnostics and digital microfluidic applications. Laura’s research expertise is further demonstrated through a postdoctoral position at Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Lab, advancing molecular diagnostics for veterinary applications, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where a doctoral thesis explored gene function using CRISPR technology in zebrafish. Early career experience includes a research associate position at LSU Health Sciences Center, focusing on ELISA and HPLC methods related to type II diabetes. Laura holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University.
