Subrata Chowdhury, Ph.D has over 19 years of experience in research and management. In 2021, they began working as an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Irvine Medical Center. In 2020, they started as a Clinical Laboratory Manager (Molecular) at LabQ - Most Innovative Clinical Lab. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Fellow at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where they provided research leadership and scientific acumen across the project lifecycle. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, where they demonstrated for the first time that programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in tumor cells correlates with aggressive metastatic papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTC). From 2008 to 2015, they were a Doctoral Candidate at McGill University, where they were responsible for identifying protective mechanisms of CCN5/WISP2 and HSD11B1 in pancreatic islet cells. In 2002, they began working as an Assistant Manager at Sanofi, where they drove optimizations across diabetes detection and treatment by collaboratively establishing Staged Diabetes Management, South Asian chapter with International Diabetes Center and Local KOLs.
Subrata Chowdhury, Ph.D. has a comprehensive education history. Subrata obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Medicine from McGill University between 2009 and 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Master's in Biology in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Concordia University between 2006 and 2008. Subrata also holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemistry from University of Dhaka and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from University of Dhaka. Additionally, they have obtained Certificates of MUHC Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and MUHC Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) from Centre universitaire de santé McGill (CUSM) | McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
