Indira Basu

Indira Basu currently serves as a Senior Scientist at Awanui Group since March 2023. Previously, Indira Basu held various leadership positions at Lab Plus from 2009 to 2023, overseeing the Mycobacteriology, Molecular Microbiology, and Viral Culture sections within the Microbiology and Virology and Immunology departments. Indira Basu's academic background includes postdoctoral fellowships at The University of Auckland and Tufts University School of Medicine, alongside early research experience at the University of Idaho. Indira Basu's education includes a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Calcutta, UNESCO Pre-doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Maryland, and ongoing fellowships with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the New Zealand Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences.
