Lad Lake
Markeda Paul has a diverse work experience in the field of youth care and case management. Markeda worked as a Youth Care Worker at St. Rose Youth and Family Center and Lad Lake, where they directly supervised at-risk youth, managed their behavior, and taught daily living and social skills. Markeda demonstrated leadership skills, de-escalated crisis situations, and served as a counselor and role model to teenage girls. Additionally, Markeda served as an Ongoing Case Manager at SaintA, where they advocated for the safety and well-being of clients in Milwaukee County and surrounding areas. Markeda performed home visits, provided supportive services, and facilitated rehabilitation resources to stabilize families and achieve legal custody of children. Their experience showcases a strong commitment to youth support and family reunification.
Markeda Paul completed their Bachelor's degree in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2008 to 2012. Markeda then pursued a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree at the same institution, specializing in School Social Work/ Clinical Social Work, from 2013 to 2015.
Lad Lake
At Lad Lake, 95% of the youth in their care come from a family in crisis unable to support them as they wish; and most suffer from a post-traumatic stress disorder and serious anxiety disorders. Here in the community, Lad Lake is the emergency room of the child welfare system.
