Anu-Liisa Rönkä has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Anu-Liisa currently holds the position of Head of Communications at the City of Lahti, where they have been working since August 2015. Prior to this, they served as a Head of Development for a few months in 2021. Anu-Liisa also founded their own company, Tarinavoima Oy, in October 2018. In 2021, Anu-Liisa worked as a Sustainable Future Maker at Our Planet, focusing on promoting sustainable values in organizations. Before joining the City of Lahti, they worked at the University of Helsinki as a Senior Planning Officer from January 2014 to August 2015, and as a Project Manager from March 2010 to December 2013. Anu-Liisa's earlier experiences include working as a PR and Press Officer at the University of Helsinki from August 1998 to September 2007, as well as a PR and Press Officer at The Finnish Deafblind Association from 1997 to 1998. Anu-Liisa has also worked as a Summer Journalist and Editorial Intern at Kaleva, Demari, Kainuun Sanomat, and Yleisradio from 1987 to 1995. Anu-Liisa has a strong background in communications and has demonstrated their ability to take on leadership roles in various organizations.
Anu-Liisa Rönkä completed their education at the University of Helsinki, where they received a Doctor of Social Sciences (D.Soc.Sc.) degree in 2019. Prior to that, they attended the University of Tampere from 1989 to 1995, earning a Master of Social Sciences (M.Soc.Sc.) degree in Communication and Media Studies.
