Essi Niemelä

Essi Niemelä is an experienced communications and marketing professional with a background in various roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Communications Specialist at the City of Lahti since May 2023, Niemelä previously held the position of Marketing Manager at Epicenter Helsinki and returned to the City of Lahti as a Communications Specialist from June 2021 to April 2023. Prior experience includes significant contributions to Telia Finland as a Communications Manager and Officer, where responsibilities encompassed internal communications, employer branding, and crisis management in social media. Additional experience includes a Project Coordinator role at Business Finland and various sales positions, complemented by a Master’s degree in Marketing from the Turku School of Economics and further studies in Design and Visual Communications.
