Lauri Saraste

Lauri Saraste is an experienced professional in the insurance and finance sectors, currently serving as the Director of Development, Regulation & ESG - Group Investments and Director of ALM at LähiTapiola since January 2020. Saraste has been involved with the Actuarial Association of Europe since February 2009, holding various roles including insurance committee chairperson and vice-chair, and chairing the Solvency II cross-sectoral working group. As a member of the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) since September 2018, Saraste contributes to discussions on insurance sector regulations. Prior roles include Director of ALM & solvency at LocalTapiola Life and Chief Actuary at LähiTapiola. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Helsinki, and additional credentials from Hanken School of Economics and as a qualified actuary.
