Lois Mansfield

Chair Of Technical Advisory Group, Lake District World Heritage Site at Lake District National Park

Lois Mansfield is an accomplished academic and director with extensive experience in environmental research and higher education. Currently serving as the Director at Environmentors Ltd and the Director of the Centre for National Parks & Protected Areas at the University of Cumbria, Lois Mansfield focuses on applied research in conservation, cultural landscapes, human-nature relations, and the rural visitor economy. As a Professor of Upland Landscapes, Mansfield's research interests include resilience in marginal agricultural systems, with ongoing work on a book in this area. Additional roles include Director of Ambleside Campus, Principal Lecturer, Chair of the Technical Advisory Group for the Lake District World Heritage Site, and Trustee for EUROPARC Atlantic Isles. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Agricultural Land Diversion & Environmental Management from Coventry University and an MA in Rural Studies from the University of Guelph.
