Diana Speelman

Diana Speelman is the Director of College of Osteopathic Medicine Research at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Diana has also worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Washington College and Stevenson University, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Speelman earned their Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006. Her dissertation research focused on small GTPase signalling in striated muscle, particularly in skeletal muscle following different types of muscle activity. Diana identified the small GTPase rhoA as a ligand of the rhoGEF domain of obscurin, a large sarcomeric protein with extensible regions.

Prior to their doctoral work, Speelman was a Research Co-op at GlaxoSmithKline from July 2000 to December 2000.

Diana Speelman received their Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Maryland Baltimore and their B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

They are on a team with Jack Lee - Director of Lecture Discussion Pathway, Kevin A. Thomas - Director of Accelerated Physician Assistant Pathway, and Melanie J. Dunbar - Director of Behavioral Health. Diana Speelman reports to John M. Ferretti, President & CEO.
