Douglas Derscheid

Douglas Derscheid serves as a Social Studies and English Language Arts Teacher at Lake Washington School District since April 2021, with previous roles including Social Studies Teacher and Long Term Substitute Teacher. Prior experience includes serving as School-Age Care Director for the Associated Recreation Council and a Student Teacher for Evergreen Public Schools. Douglas has also worked as a Water Safety Instructor for Vancouver Public Schools, where responsibilities focused on teaching water safety and aquatic skills. Additional experience includes a Unit Director position at YMCA Camp Silver Creek, responsible for organizing camp activities and supervising staff. As Chapter President of the Alpha Kappa Chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Douglas coordinated philanthropic events and collaborated with university officials. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary History Education from Washington State University and an Associate of Arts from Clark College.
