Carol Cunningham

Medical Director, Emt/paramedic Programs at Lakeland Community College

Dr. Carol Cunningham has a diverse work experience background, serving as the State Medical Director for the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS since 2004. Additionally, they have held various roles, such as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Professor of Emergency Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and on the Board of Trustees at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Dr. Cunningham has also been involved in multiple organizations, including serving as the Chair of the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO), Medical Directors Council from 2010 to 2012. Carol is also active on advisory boards and boards of directors for several institutions.

Dr. Carol Cunningham's education history includes a High School Diploma from Maple Heights High School in 1978, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1982, a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1986, and an Emergency Medicine Residency from the same institution from 1986 to 1990. Carol also completed various executive leadership programs and certifications from institutions such as Harvard Kennedy School, Naval Postgraduate School, and Uniformed Services University. In 2020, they obtained Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
