Wade Swenson is a highly accomplished medical oncologist and hematologist with a strong commitment to addressing cancer care disparities in rural areas. Currently serving as a Presidential Leadership Scholar with the Presidential Leadership Scholars program and as Secretary on the Board of Directors for ACHE MN, Wade is also the founder of the Rural Cancer Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and promoting best practices in rural cancer care. With extensive experience as Medical Director at both Lakewood Health System and Lake Region Healthcare, Wade has focused on program development and redefining rural cancer delivery models. An American Hospital Association Next Generation Leaders Fellow, Wade holds an MBA in Healthcare from the University of St. Thomas and has multiple advanced degrees in medicine and public health from the University of Iowa and the University of North Dakota.
