Jie Zhang

Jie (Semi) Zhang currently serves as Senior Manager of Lab Operations at Lam Research since October 2023. Prior to this role, Jie held the position of Senior Staff Product Engineer at Applied Materials from March 2022 to October 2023. Jie previously worked at Lam Research from November 2013 to March 2022 as a Staff Product Engineer, contributing to conductor etch product development and release, and served as Engineering Manager for the YMTC CE product line. The earlier career includes a role as Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA Plasma Diagnostic Group from April 2009 to November 2013, focusing on advanced diagnostic techniques for high-temperature magnetically confined fusion plasmas. Jie earned a PhD in Plasma Physics and a Master of Science from UCLA, following a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
