Mustapha Jourdini

Executive Director, International Education Services at Lamar University

Mustapha Jourdini has a diverse work experience in the field of international education. Mustapha is currently the Executive Director of International Education Services at Lamar University, a role they began in October 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Director of International Student Programs & Services at Lamar University since March 2018.

Before joining Lamar University, Mustapha held various positions at different institutions. Mustapha was the Assistant Vice President for First-Year Experience & Retention/Dean of Student Affairs at Al Akhawayn University from April 2016 to April 2018. Mustapha also worked as the Director of International Student Recruitment and Success at Lesley University from December 2014 to March 2016.

Mustapha's experience also includes their time at Pellissippi State Community College, where they served as a PDSO (Principal Designated School Official) and International Admissions Specialist from January 2013 to January 2015. In this role, they taught ESL classes, managed admissions and enrollment processes, provided pre-arrival information to students, facilitated orientations, and assisted students with various academic procedures.

Earlier in their career, Mustapha worked at EKU (Eastern Kentucky University) as an Honors Program Academic Advisor from March 2008 to December 2012, and as an International Education Leader from June 2010 to September 2011. Mustapha also held faculty positions at EKU as a Faculty Member with the Honors Program from January 2005 to December 2012, and as a Lecturer from August 2004 to July 2006.

In addition, Mustapha served as the Director of Education at the Cultural Center of Somerset, Kentucky from June 2006 to July 2008. Prior to that, they worked at EKU as an ESL Instructor from June 2004 to November 2007, and as an ESL Tutor Lab Manager from January 2003 to May 2004. Mustapha also had a brief role at Emory University in the Arabic Program in 2005.

Throughout their career, Mustapha has been an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators since January 2010.

Mustapha Jourdini earned their Associate Degree in Humanities from Caddi Ayyad University. Mustapha then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature, General and later completed a Master's degree in English at Eastern Kentucky University. Mustapha'seducational journey continued with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in International Education Leadership & Policy Studies, also from Eastern Kentucky University.
