R. Gavin Jones

R. Gavin Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. R. Gavin started their career in 1999 as the Director of Research and Development at Sam Houston State University. After leaving in 2008, they served as the Director of Research Operations at MicroFuel LLC from 2008 to 2010. R. Gavin then worked as the Director of Research at Active Water Sciences from 2009 to 2011, followed by being the Head of Research and Development at Hydrologica from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they became the owner of Team Jones until 2020. R. Gavin also briefly worked as an Environmental Specialist III at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, they joined Lamar University as the Associate Director for Programs. From 2019 onwards, they held various positions at Lamar University, including Director of Research Engagement and Senior Director of Contracts, Grants, and Industrial Partnerships. In 2019, they also became the Secretary at LAMAR RESEARCH FOUNDATION. R. Gavin currently serves as the Regional Director TMAC - SE at the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center since 2023.

R. Gavin Jones obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of North Texas from 1995 to 1997. R. Gavin then pursued a Master's degree in Biology at Sam Houston State University from 1997 to 1999. In July 2015, they also obtained a certification as a Registered Environmental Professional (REP) from the National Registry of Environmental Professionals.
