Russ Schultz

Russ Schultz has an extensive career in music education and administration, currently serving as Emeritus Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Lamar University, a position held since 1999. Prior to this role, Russ served as Dean and Chair of the Department of Music at Central Washington University from 1990 to 1999, and held similar leadership positions at Heidelberg College from 1985 to 1990 and Shelby State Community College from 1973 to 1985. In addition to educational leadership, Russ contributed as a trombonist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra from 1969 to 1985. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from the University of Memphis, and a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music.
