Ian Watson

Ian Watson has extensive experience in the library and cultural services sector, currently serving as the Libraries, Museums and Registrars Manager at Lancashire County Council since January 2009. Previously, Ian held several leadership roles, including Head of Cultural Services and Acting Director of Community Services at the same council. Ian's career also includes significant positions such as Head of Libraries, Archives & Information at the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Principal Assistant County Librarian at Somerset County Council. Starting as a Trainee Librarian at Gateshead Council, Ian progressed to Branch Library Manager and held senior roles at Northumberland County Council as Group Manager and Senior Librarian. Ian's educational background includes attendance at Alsop Comprehensive School from 1974 to 1981.
