John J. Herman

Mr. Herman provides executive leadership for the Lancaster General Health system, from its hospitals and suburban and downtown outpatient pavilions, to its physician network and major service lines. He is also responsible for ensuring that the services delivered by LG Health are consistent with the organization's mission and accessible to all people in the communities we serve.

Before joining LG Health in 2021, Mr. Herman served as chief executive officer of the North Shore Region for the Ochsner Health system in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to assuming that role, he served as chief operating officer for the system’s flagship Ochsner Medical Center. Over the previous 18 years, Mr. Herman held various leadership roles within the Catholic Health System in Western New York, including chief operating officer for two of the system’s hospitals.

Mr. Herman earned his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Canisius College in Buffalo and holds a Master of Business Administration from State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition, he earned a Managing Healthcare Delivery Executive Certificate from Harvard Business School.
