Michael Barber

Mr. Barber provides executive leadership of all daily operations across the LG Health system, ensuring coordinated, high-reliability care across all service lines encompassing Lancaster General Hospital, Women & Babies Hospital, more than 20 ambulatory facilities, nearly 70 primary- and specialty-care physician practices, and beyond. He also actively collaborates with other members of the Executive Leadership Team in leading our diverse Medical & Dental Staff and talented LG Health management team.

Prior to him joining LG Health, Mr. Barber served as Chief Operating Officer at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital (CCH). Mr. Barber began his career at CCH as a Senior Vice President of Human Resources and exceled in developing and executing synergistic strategies that established solid leadership. During 27 years at CCH, Mr. Barber earned a reputation as a strategic and engaged leader, dedicated to working collaboratively with physicians and employees throughout inpatient and outpatient settings, to achieve continuous operational improvement, financial sustainability and nationally recognized clinical quality.

Mr. Barber earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, and a master’s in health administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
