Qian Zhu

Qian Zhu is a seasoned software engineer currently working at LanceDB since August 2023. Prior to this role, Qian served as a Senior Engineering Manager at Cruise from March 2019 to August 2023, overseeing the ML Data team with a focus on data search, data labeling, and feature engineering. Qian's expertise also includes experience as an Engineering Manager, leading data processing efforts on a machine learning platform. Previous positions include Engineering Lead at Trulia, specializing in user search personalization, and Principal Software Engineer at Rakuten Marketing, where Qian contributed to real-time bidding platforms and cross-device modeling. Additionally, Qian worked at Accenture as a Research & Development Principal, focusing on big data analytics and cloud infrastructure. Qian holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, and Data Mining from The Ohio State University, obtained between 2004 and 2009.
