Godfrey Massay

Godfrey Massay is an experienced professional in land tenure and rights, currently serving as the Tanzania Program Director at Landesa since May 2017. In this role, Godfrey leads and manages Landesa's engagements in Tanzania and East Africa, collaborating closely with the Africa Region Director and leadership team to achieve program objectives. Previous roles at Landesa include Land Tenure Specialist and Africa Program Consultant, focusing on women's and men's land rights, the UN 2030 Agenda, and monitoring progress in these areas. Prior experience includes serving as Programmes Coordinator at the Tanzania Natural Resource Forum and as a Legal and Programme Officer at the Land Rights Research and Resources Institute. Godfrey holds a Master of Philosophy in Land and Agrarian Studies from the University of the Western Cape and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Dar es Salaam.
