James Older

Creative Director & Co-founder at Landmark Games

James Older has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry, spanning over a decade. James is currently the Creative Director and Co-founder at Landmark Games, a position they have held since 2021.

Prior to this, James worked at Big Pixel Studios from 2019 to 2021, starting as a Senior Game Designer and later becoming the Lead Game Designer. In their role as Lead Game Designer, they were responsible for the overall design of a new game for a significant Adult Swim IP. James also served as a coach and manager for the design team.

Before joining Big Pixel Studios, James worked at BIGUMAKU LTD from 2017 to 2019 as a Senior Game Designer. James was the sole Game Designer at the studio, responsible for all design decisions. James worked on two mobile projects, namely Muvimi and Hilda Creatures, and was currently involved in the development of a new IP.

From 2013 to 2017, James worked at Future Games of London Ltd - a Ubisoft Studio. Initially starting as a Junior Game Designer, they contributed to all aspects of the design for the mobile title "Little Raiders: Robin's Revenge." James later became a Senior Game Designer and worked on the popular free-to-play mobile action game "Hungry Shark World." In this role, they were responsible for level design, layout creation, and the design of unique interactive elements.

James began their career in 2011 at Hooplo Media as a Junior Games Designer. James worked with a small team, contributing to the conceptualization and design of multiple games for social platforms. James was responsible for level design, balancing, and user experience. James also conceptualized and contributed to several pitches for large brands and publishers.

Throughout their career, James Older has gained extensive experience in game design and management. James has worked on various platforms and genres, delivering successful projects and maintaining high ratings.

From 2009 to 2012, James Older attended the London College of Communication. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on Games Design.
