Bonnie McDonald is a seasoned leader in historic preservation, currently serving as the President & CEO of Landmarks Illinois since June 2012, where the focus is on supporting the strategic vision and mission of the statewide preservation nonprofit. Prior to this role, Bonnie was the Executive Director at the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota from November 2005 to May 2012, overseeing operations, fundraising, and advocacy. Bonnie also directed the Anoka County Historical Society from June 2002 to November 2005, managing staffing, budgeting, and community outreach. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Historic Preservation Planning from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Minnesota, along with specialized training in Historic Real Estate Finance from the National Development Council.
