Dan Rooney, PhD, is an accomplished entrepreneur and expert in environmental monitoring, remote sensing, and spatial information analysis. As the Founder and CEO of LandScan since January 2019, Rooney leads the development of innovative site characterization technology for agriculture and forestry. Rooney also serves as a Fellow at Unreasonable, where the focus is on empowering entrepreneurs to address social and environmental challenges. Previously, Rooney held key positions such as Strategic Development Manager at Trimble and Founder and CEO roles at C3 Agriculture and STI Agriculture, where important soil technology advancements were made. Rooney's academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science from Texas A&M University, complemented by executive education in Business Analytics from Harvard University.
