Sigurdur Thorarinsson (Siggi)

Sigurdur (Siggi) Thorarinsson has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the technology industry. Sigurdur (Siggi)'smost recent position was as a Board Member at Klappir. Prior to that, they served as a Mentor at KLAK - Venture Mentoring Service. In 2021, Siggi was the CTO at Landspitali University Hospital and Chairman of the Board at Stokkur Software. In 2020, they worked as the CTO and advisor at Horseday ehf. Previously, Siggi held the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Tempo, where they played a key role in preparing the company for a sale of a majority share. Sigurdur (Siggi) also held several managerial roles at Sabre Airline Solutions, including Director Operations and Software Development. Before that, Siggi was the CTO at Nyherji, where they achieved cost savings in the group's IT infrastructure. Sigurdur (Siggi) also served as the General Manager of Baltic IT Services and held various roles at Skyggnir, including Director, Managing Director, and Director of Operations.

Sigurdur (Siggi) Thorarinsson started their education journey in 1984 at Menntaskólinn á Akureyri, where they studied Physics for an unspecified period of time. Sigurdur (Siggi) then continued their studies and graduated from Háskóli Íslands in 1991, achieving a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering. Later, from 1994 to 1996, Siggi attended the University of Washington, earning an MSC degree in Industrial Engineering.
