Jamila Balke

Jamila Balke has extensive experience in parliamentary and translation roles, most recently serving as a Referentin für Parlaments- und Ausschussarbeit at the Landtag des Landes Brandenburg from October 2019 to March 2024, where responsibilities included supporting members of parliament with legislative tasks, drafting parliamentary inquiries and proposals, and overseeing committee work in health and social issues. Prior to this, Jamila held various positions at Wimdu from November 2011 to December 2018, culminating in the role of Senior Translator & Content-QA-Lead, focusing on specialized translations, marketing content creation, and quality assurance processes. Jamila has also contributed to the Landtag des Landes Brandenburg as a Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin and worked as a translator and interpreter for the Beirat für Migration und Integration des Landkreises Barnim, emphasizing intercultural communication and support for migrants. Jamila holds a Diplom in Translation from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, specializing in German, English, and French.
