Slater Anderson has a diverse range of work experience. Slater started their career as a Draftsman at V. R. Lee Architects from September 1992 to May 1994. Slater then moved on to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, where they worked as a GIS Manager from June 1996 to August 1999. In 1999, Slater joined LandVest as a Senior Advisor in the Real Estate Consulting Group. Over the years, they took on various roles at LandVest, including Co-Director of the Energy & Environmental Asset Group and Managing Director of the Real Estate Division. In their roles, Slater was responsible for strategic direction, sourcing new opportunities, managing teams, overseeing consultancy projects, and providing brokerage services. Slater worked at LandVest for over 20 years, until April 2019.
Slater Anderson attended Middlesex School from 1985 to 1988, but did not receive a degree or specify a field of study. Later, from 1988 to 1992, Anderson pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History & Architectural Studies at Connecticut College. Following this, from 1993 to 1995, Anderson enrolled in the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a Master's degree in Urban & Regional Planning.
