Shelley Tinkham

Shelley Tinkham is an accomplished academic leader currently serving as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Lane Community College since January 2023. Previously, Tinkham held the role of Program Approval Specialist with the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education from March 2021 to January 2023 and served as a Higher Education Specialist with Peace Corps Response in Mexico between February 2019 and March 2020. Tinkham was the Founding Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education at Westfield State University from August 2014 to February 2019 and an Assistant Commissioner for Academic, P-16, and Veterans Policy at the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education from September 2007 to August 2014. Additional experiences include teaching as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston and various roles in educational program coordination and research focused on literacy and social welfare. Tinkham holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from UMass Boston, a Master's in International Education Development from Boston University, and a Bachelor's in Philosophy from Kent State University.
