Antti Lignell

Antti Lignell is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as a Docent (Associate Professor) in Physical Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at the University of Helsinki since November 2017, while also leading the Single-Cell Quantitative Biology Lab as a University Researcher and Principal Investigator. Lignell has extensive experience in various scientific roles, including Research Scientist at the California Institute of Technology and Postdoctoral Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. With a solid educational background, including a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Helsinki and a postdoctoral fellowship at Caltech, Lignell is further advancing expertise in maritime management, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Xamk - South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. Lignell's maritime endeavors include roles as a Master in domestic trade vessels and as a Deck Officer Cadet at Langh Ship Oy Ab.
