Maria Ilenia Benfatta

Maria Ilenia Benfatta is an experienced language professional with a diverse background in teaching, translation, and account management. Currently serving as an Account Manager for the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office at Language Services Direct, Maria also holds roles as Course Manager and Team Leader. Since February 2020, Maria has been a Language Teacher at Language for Life and Business LTD and has coordinated language courses and taught at tertulia language since September 2021. Maria’s freelance translation work includes collaborations with Safe Passage International, Chris Polatch Languages, and the World Food Programme. Maria's experience also encompasses interpreting for Advising Communities and various roles during academic tenure at the University of Essex, including Student Ambassador and Language Mentoring Scheme Coordinator. Educational qualifications include degrees in Modern Languages and Visual Arts from the University of Essex, with additional studies at Universidad de Los Andes and Università di Catania.
