Silja Kosola

Silja Kosola is a seasoned professional in adolescent health, currently serving as the Research Director at Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue since May 2023, while also a Specialist Doctor at HUS New Children’s Hospital since 2019 and a Research Fellow at HUS since 2005. With a comprehensive background including roles as a Surgery Resident and Medical Director in various healthcare settings, Kosola has dedicated efforts toward enhancing the health and wellbeing of adolescents through clinical practice, research, and advocacy. Key research interests include the transition of care for adolescents with chronic conditions, improving road traffic safety for this age group, and promoting mental health services. Education credentials include a Medical Doctor (MD), PhD, and Special Competence in Adolescent Medicine from the University of Helsinki.
