Raúl Chopitea

Raúl Chopitea has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and responsibilities. Raúl started their career in 2003 as a Responsable IT at D.A.C., S.A. where they were responsible for managing the company's information systems and hardware infrastructure. In this role, they provided support for the internal ERP system and developed web extensions to meet various needs.

In 2004, Raúl joined Lantek and held various positions over the years. Raúl began as a Software Engineer, where they developed new functionalities and modules for the ERP platform. Raúl was also responsible for opening a development center in Bangalore, India, and coordinated activities and provided training for the hired personnel.

From 2007 to 2010, Raúl served as a Team Lead/Project Manager at Lantek, leading the development of a new ERP/MES product on a web platform. Raúl was involved in defining, planning, and coordinating all phases of the project and managing development teams in both the headquarters and Bangalore. Raúl also contributed to the design of the architecture for the new web platform.

In 2010, Raúl became the MES/ERP Product Owner at Lantek, where they defined the development strategy and prioritized the product backlog for the MES/ERP division. Raúl held this role until 2012 when they transitioned to the position of R&D Director. As the director, they developed innovation and product development plans, aligned with the company's strategy, and defined and prioritized the product backlog in collaboration with different departments.

From 2017 to 2019, Raúl served as the Head of Management Information Systems at Lantek, responsible for the company's internal digitalization strategy. Raúl defined the internal digitalization plan in communication with various functional areas and managed the development and support team for the internal ERP/systems.

In 2019, Raúl took on the role of Data Team Lead at Lantek. Raúl worked on developing new initiatives related to AI-ML and data exploitation, defined the data capture and exploitation strategy for process and product improvement, and prototyped machine learning applications for product innovation.

Currently, Raúl is working at Lantek as the Head of Product, a role they took on in February 2021. As the Head of Product, they oversee product development and plays a crucial role in defining the product portfolio's innovation strategy.

Raúl Chopitea began their education journey at the University of Deusto in 1997, where they pursued a degree in Ingeniería de software, specializing in Ingeniero Técnico en Informática de Gestión. Raúl completed this program in the year 2000. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same university and graduated with a degree in Ingeniero Informático, with a focus on software engineering, during the period of 2000 to 2003.

In 2018, Raúl Chopitea returned to the University of Deusto to further enhance their knowledge in the field of data analysis and business intelligence. Raúl participated in the Programa en Big Data y Business Intelligence, which they successfully completed in 2019.
