Gary Brierley

Gary Brierley has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Gary started as a Staff Process Engineer at Syncrude Canada Ltd. in 1980 and worked in this role until 1996. At Honeywell UOP, they served as a Principal Chemical Engineer from 1996 to 2006, specializing in synthetic crude oil production and shale oil upgrading. In this role, they achieved significant sales success, generating over $50 million in revenue and winning several take-away reloads from competing vendors. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Peace River Oil. Afterwards, they returned to Honeywell UOP as a Senior Project Development Manager from 2007 to 2021, where they were responsible for technical coordination and sales of Heavy Oil technologies. Currently, Gary Brierley works at LanzaJet as a Business Development Manager, starting in December 2022.

Gary Brierley attended the University of Toronto from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc degree in Chemical Engineering. In addition to their degree, they obtained the Professional Engineer certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in October 1982. Later, in May 2008, they obtained the Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) certification from Honeywell UOP.
