Chad Haynes has over 16 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Chad is currently working at LanzaTech as the Director of Government Strategy and Technology Partnerships since July 2019. Prior to that, Chad was a Lead Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton for more than 11 years, where they were responsible for exploring and deploying high-risk, high-impact R&D programs related to bio-based energy. Chad also served as a Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) where they played a key role in program development and stakeholder engagement for the agency's Bioenergy National Program. Chad started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Caltech, where they focused on investigating the Azotobacter vinelandii nitrogenase enzyme system. As part of their role, they also served as the President of the Caltech Postdoc Association.
Chad Haynes received their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Virginia Tech in 1998. Chad further pursued their education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in the same field from the University of Kentucky from 1998 to 2003.
