Zara Summers is an accomplished leader in the fields of climate technology and biosciences, currently serving as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Scientific Officer, and Vice President of Science at LanzaTech, where innovative research and development efforts focus on reducing carbon emissions. In addition, Zara serves as a Scientific Advisor on the Scientific Advisory Committee for The Nature Conservancy in Illinois, guiding strategies to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Previously, at ExxonMobil, Zara established a pioneering R&D Bioscience department and a world-class research facility dedicated to biofuels and environmental solutions. Academic contributions include research roles at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas, complemented by a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge.
