Marcus Sipe has worked in the technology industry since 1999. Starting with a role as Library Photocopy Center Associate/Manager at the University of Idaho, they then moved to Computer Nerdz in 2004 as a Professional Nerd. In 2005, they began working at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a Computer Support Specialist. In 2006, they started at Quick Computer Services as a Head Office Technician. In 2009, they began working at QualityLogic as a Tester. In 2010, they began working at En Pointe Technologies as a Field Services Technician I and Laplink Software as a Corporate Technical Support Engineer. Throughout their career, they have provided technical support, installed and troubleshot software, wrote software, managed operations, and performed testing.

Marcus Sipe began their educational journey at Boise State University from 1996 to 1997, although they did not obtain a degree. Marcus then attended the University of Idaho from 1998 to 2005, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In 2008, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft.
