Chief Technology Officer at LARKI

Florent Poux's work experience begins in 2013 as a Junior Researcher at Université de Liège, where they conducted research on point cloud technology and developed a new method of segmentation based on normal estimation. Florent then worked as an Engineer 3D Laser Scanner at Cabinet Sompayrac Cianferani Prieu, where they focused on developing the 3D branch and conducting R&D work. In 2014, they became the General Manager at Geovast 3D.

From 2015 to 2019, Florent held various roles at Université de Liège, including TA Geomatics, Senior Scientist, and Maître de Conférence. In these positions, they were responsible for conducting research in 3D geodata and leading projects related to multi-sensor 3D reconstruction, 3D GIS design, and asset detection in urban environments. Florent also taught courses and developed university collaborations.

In 2019, Florent became a Mentor Data Science at OpenClassrooms, where they mentored students in data analysis, data science, and machine learning. Florent joined 3D Geodata Academy in 2021 as a Course Director, designing a curriculum to teach individuals and companies about 3D graphics, point cloud processing, automation, photogrammetry, and AI applications to 3D geodata.

In 2021, Florent also became the Director of Innovation at GEOSAT3D. In this role, they focused on driving innovation within the company. Florent is currently working as an ITC Developer at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente.

In 2023, Florent will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer at LARKI. Overall, Florent Poux has a strong background in 3D geodata, including research, teaching, project management, and mentoring.

Florent Poux's education history is as follows:

From 2019 to 2020, Florent Poux pursued a Post Doctorate degree in Computer Graphics at RWTH Aachen University.

Between 2016 and 2019, Florent Poux completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Geomatic Sciences at the University of Liège.

From 2013 to 2015, Florent Poux studied Land Surveying at OGE - Ordre des Géomètres-Experts.

During the period of 2010 to 2013, Florent Poux obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in 3D Laser Scanner from ESGT - Ecole supérieure des Géomètres et Topographes.

In 2012, Florent Poux briefly pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Geomatics at the Schulich School of Engineering - Geomatics in Calgary, Canada.

Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, Florent Poux completed a DEUG degree in Mathematics/Physics at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III.

In terms of additional certifications, Florent Poux obtained a Postdoctorate in Computer Graphics from RWTH Aachen University in 2020. Additionally, Florent Poux received a Doctor in 3D Geodata certification from the University of Liège in 2019 and became a Civil Engineer through Esgt Cnam in 2013.
