Courtney Brown

Courtney Brown has extensive work experience in various roles and industries.

- From November 2020 onwards, Courtney has been working as the Program Director of Larkin Street Academy at Larkin Street Youth Services.

- From July 2018 to October 2020, Courtney worked at Tenderloin Housing Clinic. Courtney held the positions of Associate Director of Support Services and Support Services Manager. In these roles, they supervised a team of 30 employees, facilitated case conferences, oversaw disciplinary processes, and acted as an investigator for grievance procedures.

- From March 2011 to July 2018, Courtney worked at San Francisco Suicide Prevention. Initially serving as a Volunteer, they later became the Hotline Director, Hotline Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Weekend On-Call Counselor. Courtney'sresponsibilities included training and consultation with external organizations, recruiting and supervising volunteers, and managing contract adherence and deliverables.

- From April 2010 to July 2013, Courtney worked as a Research and Evaluation Assistant at the Exploratorium. Courtney conducted structured floor interviews with museum visitors and handled data cleaning, coding, and analysis.

- From March 2009 to June 2011, Courtney worked as a Laboratory Assistant at Doupe Lab UCSF. Courtney'sresponsibilities included caring for finches used for neurophysiological research and implementing a clerical system.

- In 2008, Courtney worked as a Research Assistant at Rachlin Pigeon Lab, handling trained pigeons and recording experimental data.

- From July 2005 to August 2008, Courtney worked as a Retail Associate at Staples, where they operated cash registers, managed inventory, and completed the returns process for damaged goods.

- From June 2007 to May 2008, Courtney worked as a Research Assistant and Database Manager at the Family Translational Research Group. Courtney'sduties included implementing coding metrics, coding video data, and inputting experimental data into spreadsheets for analysis.

Courtney Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Stony Brook University, where they attended from 2005 to 2008. In addition to their degree, Courtney obtained several certifications. They became a Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Trained professional through Larkin Street Youth Services in July 2022. In August 2018, they received a Yoga Instructor Certification - Level I from Yoga to the People. In May 2016, Courtney became a Wellness Recovery Action Plan Facilitator through PEERS Oakland. Lastly, in December 2014, they obtained the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Trainer certification from LivingWorks.
