Alexander S. Garruss

Alexander S. Garruss is a Stowers Fellow at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research since April 2024, focusing on advancing scientific knowledge. Previously, Alexander served as Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist II in AI/ML at Sail Biomedicines from April 2022 to April 2024, specializing in the design of effective RNA medicines through advanced experimentation and machine learning techniques. Prior roles include Senior Scientist and Scientist in Machine Learning at Exact Sciences, where contributions centered on cancer detection from cfDNA, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University in the Department of Genetics. Alexander's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics from Harvard University, a Master's in Computer Science from The University of Kansas, and a Bachelor's in Management Information Systems from Kansas State University.
