Head In Vivo Pharmacology at Laronde

Amber Hoggatt DVM DACLAM has extensive work experience in the field of laboratory animal medicine. Their most recent position is as the Head In Vivo Pharmacology at Laronde, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Ad hoc consultant for AAALAC International starting in August 2020. From May 2016 to January 2022, Amber worked as the Director and Attending Veterinarian for the Center of Comparative Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Before that, they held the position of Clinical Veterinarian at Harvard Medical School from September 2011 to April 2016. Amber also worked as a Senior Clinical Veterinarian at the New England Primate Research Center from September 2011 to May 2015. In addition, they served as the IACUC Administrator at Harvard FAS from June 2012 to September 2012, where they executed administrative review of animal use protocols and drafted animal research guidelines. Prior to their time at Harvard, Amber was a Lab animal veterinary resident at the University of Illinois at Chicago from July 2008 to June 2011, where they administered care to research animals and co-instructed graduate classes on animal welfare compliance and research techniques.

Amber Hoggatt completed their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Purdue University from 2001 to 2008. During this time, they also pursued Animal Sciences at Purdue University from 2001 to 2004. In 2002, they participated in a Study Abroad program in Zomarono, Honduras, focusing on Agriculture, Agriculture Operations, and Related Sciences. Additionally, they attended the Midwest Poultry Consortium Summer Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, specializing in Poultry Science.

Amber Hoggatt obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2008, they acquired their IN Veterinary License from the IN Professional Licensing Board, followed by USDA National Accreditation in January 2008. Amber later obtained their MA Veterinary License from the MA Professional Licensing Board in May 2011. In September 2012, they received USDA Authorization in the States of Massachusetts and Indiana. Amber Hoggatt also became certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM) in August 2012 and earned the Safe Capture Certified credential in the same year.
