Laura Rivera currently serves as a Program Coordinator at LA’s BEST since February 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Area Program Supervisor and Traveling Program Supervisor at the Los Angeles Unified School District from October 2014 to May 2023, and Site Coordinator at the Youth Policy Institute from November 2017 to May 2023. Earlier in their career, Laura served as an Acupuncture Assistant in a private practice from October 2011 to January 2014 and worked as a Teacher Assistant at the Los Angeles Unified School District from October 2008 to October 2012.

LA’s BEST Afterschool Enrichment Program plays a vital role in the lives of more than 25,000 unique and talented elementary school students who come from neighborhoods with the fewest resources and the greatest needs. Every school day, from the time the school bell rings until 6pm, each LA’s BEST student receives a nutritious meal, help with their homework and the opportunity to participate in a wide array of enrichment activities. LA’s BEST engages children creatively, emotionally, intellectually and physically, empowering them to explore and discover the opportunities in their lives.
