Verne Walker, DNP, MBA, RN, LP, NEA-BC is an experienced healthcare professional with a diverse range of roles and responsibilities. Currently, Verne is the Market Administrative Director of Trauma and Outreach at Del Sol Medical Center, where their primary responsibilities include establishing service line structures and strategic directions for trauma centers in the El Paso market. Verne collaborates with division AVPs, facility executive teams, and physician leaders to develop goals, objectives, and performance standards to achieve growth initiatives, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance patient and physician satisfaction. Verne also oversees registry data, performance metrics, and research initiatives to ensure optimal quality outcomes at the trauma centers.

Previously, Verne served as the Director of Emergency Services at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, a full-service medical center and tertiary referral center. Verne managed and provided high-quality healthcare to Montgomery County and acted as a regional referral center for acute care.

Verne's work experience also includes roles in various organizations such as Governor's EMS and Trauma Council, St. David's South Austin Medical Center as a Freestanding Emergency Center Manager, Baylor Scott & White Health as an Administrative House Supervisor, Texas EMS as an Executive Director, Hood County Committee on Aging as the President of the Board of Directors, NCTTRAC as a Finance Core Committee Member, Hood County Child Fatality Review Team as a Committee Member, and Methodist Health System as a Nursing Supervisor.

Verne Walker, DNP, MBA, RN, LP, NEA-BC, has an extensive education history that includes multiple degrees and certifications. In 1997, Verne obtained a Registered Nurse (RN) certification from the Texas Board of Nursing. In 1999, Verne obtained a Licensed Paramedic (LP) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Building on this foundation, Verne pursued higher education, receiving a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Phoenix from 2010 to 2012. Verne continued to advance in the field and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Healthcare Management (HCM) from the University of Phoenix from 2012 to 2015. Verne further expanded their expertise by completing a Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree with a focus on Executive Leadership from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 2016 to 2018. In addition to these academic achievements, Verne also holds a Nurse Executive Advanced, Board Certified (NEA-BC) certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, obtained in June 2017.
