Amy Mattern

Dean, Academic Services, Arts & Humanities at Las Positas College

Amy Mattern has been a Dean at Las Positas College since October 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Dean at Chabot College from 2015 to 2019, where they were responsible for various campus transformation initiatives.

Mattern has also been involved in the California Community College system, serving as an Administrative Lead for the CCCCO Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) Grant and the CCCCO Guided Pathways. In addition, they have overseen the CDE Career Pathway Trust Grants and Strong Workforce Program projects.

Throughout their career, Mattern has focused on community outreach and liaison with area high schools, two- and four-year colleges, business and industry, and the public sector to promote, develop and articulate college instructional offerings. Amy has also formulated short- and long-range goals for assigned departments and supported faculty and classified professionals in the development and/or assessment of student, program and institutional learning outcomes.

Amy Mattern received their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and American Studies from the University of California, Davis. Amy then went on to earn their Master's Degree in American Studies from California State University, Fullerton.
