Homar MacIas

Homar Macias has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as an Enterprise Technical Engineer at Las Vegas Sands Corp. Homar joined the company in November 2021 as a Technology Support Engineer and later transitioned to their current position. Prior to this, they worked as a Network Engineer at Synoptek from July 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining Synoptek, Homar was employed at Ellucian from January 2017 to June 2020, where they held multiple roles. Homar started as a Technical Support Specialist, Associate and was responsible for prioritizing and working on tickets using ServiceNow. Homar then became a Technical Support Specialist and fulfilled the role of an associate technician. In this role, they provided on-site and remote support for the enterprise environment and resolved software/hardware issues. Lastly, they served as a Network Administrator and handled tasks such as configuring switches and monitoring network changes using various tools.

Homar's work experience also includes a position at the College of Southern Nevada, where they worked as a Computer Technician's Assistant from April 2015 to January 2017. Additionally, they worked at Sonic Drive-In as a Crew Leader from February 2014 to June 2016.

Throughout their career, Homar has gained extensive experience in technical support, network engineering, and enterprise-level support.

Homar Macias has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology with an Information and Computer Technology Option, which they obtained from Nevada State College from 2019 to 2022. Before that, they completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Information Technology with a Networking Emphasis at the College of Southern Nevada from 2014 to 2017. Homar's educational journey began in high school, where they graduated from Canyon Springs High School in 2014 with a focus on CAD/CADD Drafting and/or Design Technology/Technician.

In addition to their formal education, Homar has obtained several certifications. Homar obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) certification from Cisco in December 2018. Before that, they obtained the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification in September 2018. In 2017, they received the CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS certification and the CompTIA Network + certification. In 2016, Homar obtained the MTA: Windows Operating System Fundamentals certification from Microsoft and the CompTIA A+ ce certification. Homar also obtained the IC3 - Digital Literacy certification from Pearson VUE in December 2015.
