Ken Haertling has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and telecommunications. Ken started their career as a Network Engineer in the US Air Force, where they designed computer networks and led network upgrade projects. Ken then served as the Executive Officer of the Air Force Information Warfare Center, providing support to the Commander and managing organizational initiatives. Ken also led a Computer Emergency Response Team, overseeing intrusion detection and incident response across multiple Air Force sites.
After their military service, Ken joined Level 3 Communications, where they held various roles including Senior Manager of Information Assurance, Senior Manager of Security Architecture & Engineering, Director of Security Operations, and Vice President of Network Operations. In these roles, they managed security professionals and was responsible for enterprise security, network operations, and security solutions for a worldwide fiber-optic network.
Ken later joined TELUS as their Vice President and Chief Security Officer, managing a team of 230 security professionals and overseeing all aspects of internal security, including physical security, network security, and IT security. Ken also managed the Security Operations Center (SOC) supporting TELUS' telecommunications and IT services business.
Most recently, Ken has been working as the Senior Vice President of Global Cybersecurity at Las Vegas Sands Corp. where they lead the company's cybersecurity initiatives.

Ken Haertling obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy between the years 1988 and 1992. In 1998, they attended The University of Texas at San Antonio for their MBA in Information Systems, completing it in 2000. In addition to their academic qualifications, Ken Haertling also holds a certification in CISSP from (ISC)^2, which they obtained in March 2013.
