Michael Montgomery

Michael Montgomery has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Michael began their career as a Student Worker in the Information Technology Division of the San Diego County District Attorney's Office in 2014. After that, they worked as a Network and System Administrator/Consultant at Status Pros from January to August 2016. Following this, they became a Self-Employed IT Consultant from October 2016 to December 2017. In 2018, they joined MGM Resorts International as a Computer Engineer until January 2020. Michael then joined Las Vegas Sands Corp., where they held various cybersecurity roles, starting as a Cyber Security Analyst I in February 2020 and progressing to a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst II, and finally a Principal Cyber Security Analyst - Incident Response.

Michael Montgomery obtained an Associate of Science degree in Computer Networking from Coleman University from 2012 to 2014. Michael then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Network Security from the same university from 2012 to 2015. In terms of certifications, they achieved the following: Security+, A+, and Network+ certifications from CompTIA in December 2013 and the CCNA Routing and Switching certification from Cisco in October 2015. Michael also obtained the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Advisory Board, and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certifications from GIAC Certifications in June 2018, as well as the GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator (GCUX) certification in February 2020. Further certifications include the GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) and the GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) in February 2022 and October 2022, respectively. Their most recent certifications include the GIAC Cloud Forensics Responder (GCFR) in March 2023 and the CCNA Security certification from Cisco in October 2018.
