Soon Meng Seah

Soon Meng Seah has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Soon Meng started their career as an IT Security Officer at Maybank in 1993 and worked there until 1995. Soon Meng then moved on to Tat Lee Bank and served as a Data Security Officer from 1995 to 1997. After that, they joined Overseas Union Bank as a Data Security Officer and worked there until 2000. Soon Meng then joined DBS Bank as a Senior IT Auditor for a brief period from January 2000 to June 2000. Soon Meng then joined Standard Chartered Bank and took on various roles, including Security Architect and Principal Security Engineer, from 2000 to 2013. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Cyber Security Analyst at Las Vegas Sands Corp. since February 2014.

Soon Meng Seah began their education in 1977 at Singapore Polytechnic, where they obtained a Technician Diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1979. In 1988, they pursued further studies at the National Centre for Information Technology in the UK, earning a Diploma in Computer Studies in 1989. Soon Meng went on to study at the University of Central England - UK from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems. In 1998, they enrolled at Temasek Polytechnic and completed a Specialist Diploma in Information Systems Security in 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Soon Meng Seah has also obtained several certifications. In 2000, they became a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) after completing the certification program offered by ISACA. In 2001, they earned the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) designation from (ISC)2. Soon Meng further enhanced their expertise with the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in 2007.

To stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving field, they obtained the GIAC Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT) certification from GIAC Certifications in September 2020, and the GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI) certification from GIAC Certifications in June 2018.
