Alex Capovilla

Alex Capovilla has a strong background in antibody engineering, molecular and protein sciences, with experience in senior leadership roles at Lassen Therapeutics and Trutino Biosciences. Prior to this, Alex held research and senior scientist positions at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Alex also has experience as a lead consulting scientist at Venomyx Therapeutics and as a co-founder and principal scientist at BioTech Africa. Earlier in their career, Alex worked as a scientist at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Alex Capovilla started their education at King Edward VII School from 1981 to 1992. Alex then pursued a BSc(Hons) PhD in Biochemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand, graduating in 2003. In 2007-2008, they furthered their studies at Wits Business School, earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (P.D.M.) in Business Management.
