Alinafe Kasiya

Advisor at Last Mile Health

Alinafe Kasiya is an Advisor at Last Mile Health. Prior to their current role, Alinafe served as the Chief of Party for the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs' SSDI-Communication project from March 2015 to January 2017. In this role, they were responsible for providing strategic and managerial direction for the project, which aimed to improve communication around social and behavior change in 19 districts in Malawi.

Before their time as Chief of Party, Alinafe served as the Deputy Chief of Party for the same project from October 2011 to March 2015. In this role, they worked closely with the Chief of Party to set priorities for the project’s overall technical vision, facilitated the establishment of the project office and the recruitment of national and international staff, and supervised baseline research in 19 districts. Alinafe also helped to design an SBCC strategy and campaign called 'Life is precious' (Moyo ndi Mpamba, Usamalireni).

Prior to their work on the SSDI-Communication project, Alinafe served as a Governance Adviser/Governance Program Manager for the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID) from July 2010 to October 2011.

Alinafe Kasiya has a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS University of London, a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Studies from the University of Reading, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Education Humanities from University of Malawi, Chancellor College.
