Mikel Larburu

Mikel Larburu has a diverse work experience in the supply chain and logistics industry. Mikel has worked at LATAM Airlines since 2012, holding various positions including Director of Supply Chain and Logistics, Director of Planning and Network Development, and Director of Planning. In these roles, Mikel played a key role in the post-merger stage of LATAM, overseeing a budget of $450 million USD and managing operations for a large fleet of airplanes and engines. Mikel led central planning for the fleet and successfully reorganized and centralized network divisions to improve efficiency. Mikel also led planning for airplane engines and APUs and implemented LEAN methodology to improve on-time delivery performance and cost savings. Prior to their work at LATAM, Mikel worked at BP where they developed financial models for evaluating major upstream projects and achieved significant cost reductions. Mikel also worked at Rolls Royce - ITP as a Project & Engineering Manager, demonstrating strong organizational and team leadership skills.

Mikel Larburu's education history includes an MBA in Finance from the London Business School in 2011-2012, an MBA in General Management from the IESE Business School in 2010-2012, a PhD in Business Administration (specializing in Strategy) from The University of Manchester which is expected to be completed in 2023, and a Master's degree in Aeronautical Technologies from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in 2003-2004. Additionally, they hold a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the same university, which they obtained in 1999-2004.
